Federico Dimarco‘s future remains unclear FCInterNews.it report. Empoli and Inter will meet to discuss his future at the end of the season. The Azzurri have an option to buy set at 3 million while Inter have a counter option of 3.5 million. One thing for sure is, if he is to return to the Nerazzurri a contract extension will happen with his current contract up in 2018.

Dimarco should only come back if he’s second string behind Rodriguez. If Ansaldi, Nagatomo, etc are still around to take up minutes, let him stay at Empoli where he seems to be developing well and retain a buy out clause for him for when he is better developed. I like him a lot going forward, and his awareness for interceptions is very good, but he needs to work on his marking quite a bit. He seems to get too focused on the ball and loses his man more than I would like to see from a fullback.

I feel Miangue is more ready than DiMarco. Miangue has that sth extra to his game that just makes it look like he’s gonna be a big player in the future.

I rate the both of them quite highly, but it’s hard to say which of the two is better because they’re different in play style and A LOT different physically. If I had to make a comparison I’d say Dimarco is very similar to Marcelo: physically they’re both quite strong for their height, technically are excellent at beating their opposition fullback to get in and around the box, but tactically, as previously stated, lose their marker too often. Miangue is most similar to Abidal: it’s tough to make a comparison for Miangue due to his height, but Abidal was the most similar player I could think of because he was capable of playing left back and center back, had great pace for a tall player and made smart runs and passes going forward. With that being said, I think for the current Inter, Miangue would be the better choice because he is more complete, but in the future, if we boast an extraordinary back line, Dimarco may prove to be the better choice of the two.
