Sky Sport Italia compared Argentinian strikers Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain statistically and concluded that the Inter captain is doing better than his Bianconeri compatriot.
According to the report both players score every 120 minutes but where Icardi has scored 20 goals and managed 8 assists in the Serie A, the former Napoli striker trails him on 19 goals and only 2 assists. Despite these stats Argentina national team manager Bauza refuses to call the Inter captain up to the national team claiming that Icardi is only the third best Argentinian striker after 6 year older Higuain as well as Lucas Pratto.

Players often get injured while playing for the national team. Let Argentina stick to Higuain, Pratto, or Messi. If one of them is injured, they still have Maradona. Icardi is simply for Inter.
