Gazzetta dello Sport report that Suning’s patience with Milan over the renovation of the San Siro is up. With the soon to be new owners of Milan requiring a big loan to secure the club in the first place, they don’t have the money for the stadium so Suning will go it alone. Suning plan to renovate the third tier introducing stores, restaurants and more.

isn’t it unfair, if we invest at the stadium, and Bilan enjoy the modern youth well renovated stadium? Would they be renting from us? No, coz the stadium is not belong to us, but rather belong to the government. Would they pay for our renovation cost, since they wont share the cost? unlikely, such a deal seems to odd to recognize. Will us just renovate our side of stadium? unlikely, the stadium would look weird, half good, half old.
So what’s the best formula, anyone?
keep the money until we can build our own stadium?
So what?
Cool
Build a new stadium instead.

It’s reported Inter wanted to buy San Siro outright, but there’s an agreement with Milan until 2030.
The Rossoneri had been planning to move out and build their own stadium
in the Portello area of the city, but President Silvio Berlusconi
ultimately pulled the plug on the project.
Currently the plan is for the two sides to continue sharing Stadio
Giuseppe Meazza, but with improvements made to the old stadium.
Now Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Suning Group President Zhang
Jindong asked about buying the whole stadium in his first meeting with
Milan’s mayor, Beppe Sala.
However, the Nerazzurri owner was told that there is a rental agreement
with Milan until 2030, so the council couldn’t sell San Siro even if
they wanted to.

When buying property it’s not unusual to take over an existing rental agreement, so a bit sceptic about this story? Actually like the idea of Milan paying Inter rent for using the stadium..
I was thinking the same
That’s would be brilliant.. bilan pay us money rent? wow!
I think Suning’s plan depends on this year result whether we qualify for CL or not. FYI, the current Milano’s mayor Beppe Sala is a die hard Interista. So yes the idea is still possible, especially when the gov is in our side. I think the idea of buying the stadium, make gradual improvements to it and still give the cousin the rights to pay the rent until they move out would be the win-win solution for the council, Inter and cousin. With this move, Inter can challenge Rube’s financial power within two years. No wonder some Italian newspapers & media were unhappy about this Chinese invasion and started writing B.S. stories that Inter can’t have their own stadium.
I hope we will buy san siro soon and kick the red team away from it
and then they’ll be homeless
well.. i don’t care.. or should we care? LoL
Okay sounds interesting .. hopefully we could be able to buy the stadium from the city sometime in the future… we need our own stadium and with the team under-preforming for years we still manage to have impressive numbers at the stadium every single weekend so with a quality team challenging for glory next season(s) and a direct air-plane line to China from Milan, why shouldn’t the stadium be packed with people in the future too?
A 65000 seats stadium would certainly be always packed once we get to challenging for Scudetto and playing UCL again.
True, and maybe a part of the renovation could be to reduce the capacity it self like it has been done other places….
Yeah i think that’s what Thorhir originally planned was to reduce the number of seating and make more shopts. It would be cool if they can implement a way to temporarily take away the seating but when there’s a UCL game they can open up seating
