Sebastian Frey recalled his arrival at Inter on Inter Channel show “Memoribilia”: “Cannes had to find 15 million francs, and had to sell top players. There were French teams interested but then Inter spoke to me: I met the coach at Marseille and then I went to San Siro to see a game, one against Strasbourg. I was impressed by a stadium like San Siro. Inter won and after the game they had me go in the dressing room: there was Ronaldo, Youri Djorkaeff – who is a French legend and a great goalkeeper in Pagliuca. I saw that and I said to my agent I wanted to be in that locker room, knowing that the first year would be tough. I arrived just after the World Cup ’98, when they all returned from the national teams I noticed that the champions were also good people: Ronaldo, for example, talking and joking with me the exact way as he did with Cholo Simeone. Me and the other guys felt immediately at ease.”
