Angel Di Maria, Kevin Strootman, Kostas Manolas, Marco Verratti, Domenico Berardi, Federico Bernardeschi. These are just a few big name players that have been linked to Inter. Inter’s new owners; the Suning Group, have a very ambitious project in the works.

They have already opened up their check book for players like Gabigol, Roberto Gagliardini, Joao Mario, and Antonio Candreva. The signing of Gagliardini was a big win for Inter for two reasons. One, they secured one of the better young Italian talents available. Two, Juventus wanted to sign Gagliardini this upcoming summer, so Inter were able to keep him away from one of their rivals. If you notice the players Inter are linked to and some they have signed already, they are looking to bring in top, young Italian talent. Putting together a core group of young Italians would be great to see at Inter.

Gagliardini has been stellar since joining Inter in January and has been a mainstay in Pioli’s starting 11. Inter received a lot of criticism for “overpaying” for Joao Mario when they paid €40M for the Portuguese international. However, Joao Mario has silenced those critics and has been one of Inter’s better players this season. Candreva has done well himself. The only player that hasn’t made a big impact yet is Gabigol. To be fair he hasn’t received the playing time the other new signings have. Inter has a leader in Mauro Icardi. Despite being a heavily criticized person for his character and off the field life-style, he is a world-class striker that many teams yearn to have. While some clubs may be tempted to sell a player like Icardi given the big money he could bring in, the Suning Group needs no money.

If you are an Inter fan, you have to be pretty pleased with what the Suning Group has done so far. They have plenty of money and are more than willing to spend it. Zhang Jindong, their primary owner, has an estimated net worth of just over $4 billion. According to Forbes, Zhang is ranked number 403 on the billionaires list. No one wants to be ranked number 403, but that is one list you just want to be on.

While their city rivals Milan are pushing back closing dates for a potential sale and dealing with their struggles, Inter are moving full steam ahead to return to the top of Serie A. Inter has not finished higher than 4th place since the 2011-2012 season, they are currently in 5th place. No denying Inter wants to get back to playing in the Champions League instead of settling for the Europa League. Inter are 6 points behind Napoli for 3rd place, the Champions League is within reach for the Nerazzurri.

They already have a talented group of young players like; Icardi, Murillo, Gagliardini, Gabigol, and Joao Mario to build around. If Inter are able to secure some big name players this summer, it could help propel them into title contenders. The Suning Group is aiming for the stars, and will not settle for anything less.
