Icardi: “We had to win but we didn’t, we’ve done great things with Pioli”

Mauro Icardi spoke to the microphones of Premium Sport after Inter were defeated late on by Sampdoria: “We decreased the intensity, we have underestimated the fact that we were in the lead and dropped off a little. With teams like Sampdoria a draw is likely in these situations, then came the misfortune of the penalty caused by Brozovic. The pressure? We had to win because we were at home in front of our fans, which is one more reason. We did not succeed.  We have done great things with Stefano Pioli and deserve a better ranking in the table. Sampdoria plays very well with the ball low, you have to do well in the defensive phase. In the first half we did very well, then in the second half we fell.”
