The Times – Conte wants Italian assistant after Holland departs

Antonio Conte is set to go against Chelsea tradition and appoint a compatriot as his assistant at the end of the season The Times report. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has always wanted an Englishman in the staff but current assistant Steve Holland is off to be the England national team assistant under Gareth Southgate. It is possible that Conte could promote Carlo Cudicini from within to be his assistant. The relationship between Conte and the club remains good despite Conte and Abramovich’s different wishes for the mercato. While Abramovich wants Neymar, Conte would prefer Alexis and Lukaku.
