Don Ausilio

Piero Ausilio spoke to Premium Sport after Inter’s 2-1 defeat against Crotone and criticised the attitudes of the Inter players.

“The Europa League remains a duty, the goals do not change. We were conceited and arrogant, we can not allow this attitude for the remaining seven games.

“Beyond this horrendous week, there has been five good months where we have embarked on a journey. We cannot allow what happened today to happen in the derby, we must forget about today.

Ausilio then spoke about the Milan derby and how attitudes must change.

“We will try to involve everybody and get them all motivated for this game. The derby is a perfect game to start over and begin a good finish to the season.

“We must criticise ourselves for today and understand why the first half happened. The fans and the shirt must be respected.”

Ausilio was then asked about whether this Inter side has a leader amongst its ranks, to which he said:” For me, being a leader is someone who dares and gives 110% on the pitch and some of our players have more experience. Today there was too much mental fragility, we paid for the defeat on Monday and we are now seeing the dream of the Europa League descend from reality.”

Lastly Ausilio spoke about whether rumours would resurface about stefano pioli potentially losing his job.

“For me, it’s an appearance that will be written off but we want work at La Pinetina. We need to prepare better for the derby and bring the three points home.”
