Maurizio Ganz, ex Inter and AC Milan player, was interviewed recently by Milan TV in preperation for the Derby della Madonnina.

“It’s always a special atmosphere at the derby. I was lucky enough to play and score for both sides. I celebrated my goals against Inter when I played for Milan because I was angry at the way I was treated before I left. I felt like I was being thrown to the side. It depends on how you leave a place. I wanted to show them and show myself that they made the wrong choice. I’ve scored against Milan in other years and haven’t celebrated. They treated me well. It’s unfortunate that this derby is a battle to get into Europe rather than a battle for the scudetto. It’s bad for Milano to see both of it’s teams like this, really.”

The ex-Inter player ended the conversation with, “I received betrayal from the higher-ups, not the fans. The fans were always great.”
