Former Fiorentina player and director Antonio Di Gennaro spoke to firenzeviola.it on the candidates to take over from Paulo Sousa in the summer: “Maurizio Sarri and Luciano Spalletti are both dreams. It is not certain that Stefano Pioli will leave Inter, while Eusebio Di Francesco should still appear in a square like that of Florence with great ambitions and great desire. Who would I sign? I can not put on the shoes of Pantaleo Corvino, things are already complicated for him, but Marco Giampaolo is really high on my list. Pioli and Di Francesco are two other perfect names for a medium to long-term project. I do wish he stays at Inter but I would be really happy to see Pioli again in Florence. He is a friend and I think he has the skills.”
He also spoke on Federico Bernardeschi: “I think if there were to be a club ready to spend 50 million to 60 million, he should be transferred immediately. For a club like Fiorentina that would be a lot of money, which together with a potential sale of Nikola Kalinic could allow the Viola to have up to 100 million. An incredible figure that would allow Corvino to build a team ready for both the present and the future.”
