Leonardo Jardim is the number one alternative to Diego Simeone and Antonio Conte for Inter Tuttsport report. The 42-year-old tactician, currently on the bench of Monaco is an experienced alternative should Inter decide to part ways with Stefano Pioli. Piero Ausilio will be in Montecarlo tonight for Monaco-Dortmund and will have the chance to take notes on Jardim as well as many of Monaco’s talents.

Hes a good coach but i feel he would need atleast 2 seasons to really understand Serie A’s Ryhthym,
I feel like we would start seeing results the way we did with Mancini in the beginning of the 15/16 season, we had Melo and Medel a solid core midfielders and Murillo and Miranda, very hard to break down, with skilled tricky players like Jovetic and Perisic and Ljajic lurking around doing invidual brilliance winning 1-0 along with icardi motivated cause he had competition.
Well if he doesnt know italian then how would the players understand him? Remember de boer?
he is like a notch better than fdb
I wonder if some of our players understand any language. But seriously, that shouldn’t be the biggest problem though, portugese and especially french are really close to italian unlike dutch language. Mourinho did it.
Didn’t know the first thing about this Jardim, but then started to read about him. And he has done great at clubs like Braga, Olympiacos( got sacked midways because of problems with the president but the team was 12-15points in front of number 2 when he was sacked, Sporting (finished 2.after a season where the former coach had finished 7th!). Then he 2014 moved to Monaco and the first 2 years he finneshed 3th despite contantly loosing star players abroad and his style of play was NOT free flowing attacking football but defensive strong football where he manage not to lose in many games in a row.
Many called his coaching style dead boring but he got results, played very compact and nice and easy build the team he wanted. And this season he finally had what he wanted to play attacking football so he did!
He is a coach who knows how to adapt and how to change style and tactics and doesn’t just play in one way all the time. He plays 4-1-2-3/4-2-3-1 but when he feels he needs to play with two strikers he does!
Plus he is world famous for working great work with youngsters (William Cavalho at Sporting was his invention, and so was Martial and Mbappe, plus Babayako has been exploding under his guidance not to mention the brilliant move of moving Fabinho into midfield).
Reading the aponent and his man management is something he is well known for.
He doesn’t know Italian football, the langue and has never played as a professional himself, but he has showed in Portugal, Greece, and now for 3 years at Monaco that he knows how to adapt, work with youngsters and build a wining team!
If we can’t get Simeone he could be a very interesting second choice.
An article I found about the man:
http://thesefootballtimes.co/2017/02/14/can-leonardo-jardim-follow-in-the-footsteps-of-jose-mourinho-and-achieve-glory/
Football in Greece is more corrupted than you can imagine!I like all his other stats but the one in Greece does not count! Why(?)Because everyone knows here that OSFP is bridding the refs it’s not like it’s a secret even the OSFP fans know that and that’s why Marinakis got banned!
But with Jardim i am impressed oin what he has done with Monaco!
I know the Greek league is nothing special and I guess the only good team is Olympiacos…. but still, he has showed everywhere he knows how to adapt
Cambiasso scored a goal for them the other week lol!
Jardim is a genius, as someone who discovered him when he came to Monaco ( at first, everyone was making fun of him here in France), he has proven how much he can adapt, dealing with the hundreds of transfers that occurred at Monaco during his reign and always managed to finish amongst the top. If we can’t get Someone, I’m convinced Jardim is the one.
Oh so you actually know the man being a French man yourself? I also think a good point in getting him could be that he already knows how to get the best out of Kondogbia (whom he had at Monaco) seeing that he turned him into a beast when they were together, plus I imagine he also knows how to use Mario in the way because they both were at Sporting even though Mario played away on loan when Jardim was there…
Yeah, he was criticized a lot in France because Monaco always won their games 1-0, and even me honestly, I thought he only knew how to park the bus.
But it was a big surprise this season to see Monaco scoring goals left and right. Finally, the way he launched mbappe and resuscitated falcao got me convinced he might the next big coach. He is only 42 which is very young too
Seems like a very intelligent coach the way he started by building the team from defense and forward spending 2 years making them confidence at the back and adding quality up front. And when you´re a new coach in a new country playing corcious makes perfectly sense!
Interesting. Still, handling Inter is a couple of levels harder than handling Monaco. But he could be the next big coach also.
Ok, I’m with u, this guy is great. But I’m afraid we end up with Spalletti the loser instead of this guy or Simeone.
I guess he’ll get a huge chance to show the world, Italy and us, what a great coach he is against Juve now… if he wins he’ll have a huge offer lying from Suning at his disk but if he looses….
Doesn’t know how to defend, not suitable for Serie A
He’s actually does…
He’s attacking minded coach and his team concedes a lot and score a lot. That won’t work in Serie A.
Read the article I posted a link to above… he played defensively and very compact the two first years he was in Monaco. Back then he was new in Franch and didn’t know the league and didn’t have the players needed to play attacking football. Now he has build for two years and is ready to play his style … that’s he way to build a great team!
This is the first season with Monaco that he’s playing attacking football ( and doing it pretty well). His first two season at Monaco, they played defensive football because he lost all his stars when he came and decided to focus on loosing the least amount of points before trying to play in an attractive way..
Hmmm…
Which is the way to build a wining team, you build the teams confidence and when everyone is ready to play more attacking minded football and the players needed are bought in, you can play that way. This is also what Mou did when coming to Inter – starting out
Mancini did the same with us when we first started the season last year.
Maybe he could at least bring some of those Monaco’s talents with him. Just impossible to say how he would do in serie a, but if he comes here, then I’ll be sure to bet some money that he’ll be sacked before the season ends. We always forget the “old” toys and get really excited about the new ones
you said it.. very true..
and also imagine if the last manager still manage, so inter will be in top 3..
This Guy is really a great coach and has showed what he can do with Monaco and if he is the one Inter chose than he should get the summer to prepare and not wait until august and give him 2 weeks…. that is if we can’t get simeone of course
