Monaco’s Italian defender Andrea Raggi spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport on his sides upcoming Champions League semi-final fixtures with Juventus:

For you, an Italian expat, will the game be even more of a challenge?
“A little, the game is against a representative of my country and it is the second time in two years that we’ll face Juve. You see that is destiny.”

Is that also because you come from a Juventus supporting family?
“True, but I have a weakness for Inter, its a passion inherited from my grandfather Iorio who made me start to play football. Put it this way, for me it’s kind of like the Derby d’Italia.”

Has Monaco improved since the last meeting?

“In 2014 we had a rebellious young team, but now we play in unscrupulous manner. From midfield up we do not look at anybody.”

What do you think of Mbappe?

“A true phenomenon. When you face him in training you have to make the sign of the cross and hope that something goes wrong to stop him. In One on one situations he is very fast, he has great technique. He’s a calm boy.”
