Roma manager Luciano Spalleti is a concrete idea for post-Pioli Inter according to Corriere dello Sport. Inter are working on the 58-year-old former Zenit manager because he is an easier option than the likes of Antonio Conte or Diego Simeone with his contract expiring in the summer.

4th best based on what? Pioli came into a hellhole of a club and managed to stabilize it. I’m not saying that he is a top notch coach but he isn’t worth sacrificing for this guy. What are the highlights of his career? Managing Roma and winning a Russian championship. Great. Even Mancini did more.

Pioli did nothing, it was the usual honeymoon period when a new coach takes over, now we are seeing what Pioli really is about – nothing at all.
When Ranieri joined, after gaperini, we had the same honeymoon period, then turned to shit, then with strama it was the same thing. Pioli is no different as we now see.
Atleast Spalletti has achieved good results with an inferior roma, both now and back when Inter was on top plus he has international experience with zenit. Far better coach than Pioli in every aspect. The highlight of Piolis career is finishing 3rd with lazio ffs.
Pioli is on a short term deal anyways, it costs very little to sack him. If Pioli stays, then i doubt top 4 is realistic next season.

Ohhh god no! Not again…. plz we have a shot on CL next season with italy having 4 spots and don’t mess it up by short time options! If you can’t get the best( Simeone) then don’t just go random… give pioli the chance to play in his own version of Inter…. and than we get simeone for CL season and he can modify the squad further on…

He is among the top 5 italian coaches, Pioli is not among the top 10.
Besides, Pioli is not on a long term contract or high salary, its cheap to let him go and he should be let go.
Didn’t say spalleti is bad but he’s certainly not good enough for inters future…. look at Roma..sure he makes it to CL but then what? Never won the league…always second best or worse… not the kind we want! We need a coach with a winners mentality… not saying that pioli has this but I think he deserves a full season to show his worth. With him we at least have style of play and you see he has ideas so clearly if simeone doesn’t come next season than let pioli be!
lol? his competition in serie a was Inter pre-2010 and Rube post-2010, team who had/have much better team than his Roma.
Expecting him to win the scudetto over that Inter team and this Rube team and then saying he sucks is a ridiculous and nonsensical argument.
He did very well in the Inter era, apart in the last season, in 07/08 Inter only beat his Roma on the last matchday if you remember.
Last season he had instant impact when he came to Roma, leading them from midtable to 3rd and this season he will easily come in second.
Prefering Pioli over Spalletti is just insane.
