Inter have announced through way of a statement posted on their official club website that manager Stefano Pioli has their full backing: “Following Saturday’s result against ACF Fiorentina, the Club has called the entire first team squad in for an extended ‘ritiro’ at the Suning Training Centre at Appiano starting tomorrow Tuesday 25 April midday and lasting until the home game against S.S.C. Napoli on Sunday 30 April.
The manner of the defeat at Fiorentina was unacceptable for our supporters both in Italy and abroad, and we are determined to put this right. Everyone at the Club, from the players to all staff, is now focused on working as hard as possible to achieve the maximum result and finish the season strongly.
In order to achieve this, the Club confirms its full backing and that of the ownership in Stefano Pioli and his entire technical team. Pioli joined Inter at a difficult time and the work he has carried out together with his staff over the six months, since he joined the Club in November last year, has been exceptional and deserves our full respect. The Club will not be distracted by rumours circulated by those outside of the Club.
Our target remains to finish as a high as possible in Serie A and qualify for European competition, by giving the maximum in every match, and for the players to represent the Club’s colours with honour and pride as befits the history and tradition of this great Club.”

A month ago, Pioli was beating a great Atalanta team 7-1 and was the MAN. Unfortunately the next game we concede a draw despite deserving the win against Torino.
That is the moment some of our players thought that it wasn’t worth it anymore, as all these wins still couldn’t get us into UCL( because of their shitty debut) and decided throw the season away.
First, we can thank brozobitch for almost single handedly giving Samp the win and next we managed the impossible, getting beat by Crotone (I say impossible, but I forget this is the same team that lost twice to Hapoel Beer Sheva… LOL) and since then it’s a free fall.
Of course now Pioli will take all the blame, and those players will make their usual loser speech.. “we have to work and do better blabla” and still get their $$$ at the end of the day.
Messages like these means absolutely nothing, luckily.
So many examples of such statements being made and then the coach is sacked within the next week.
Pioli is gone after matchday 38, you can bet your house on that.
New chinese owners, you’ll never know. I also believe Pioli will be gone, but not confident enough to bet my house, but I could bet your house though…
I believe the new owners want to show some sort of stability so they will keep him. I think he isn’t ready for a big team like ours just yet but can take us to CL next season.
Really a nice statement telling the world to shot up and not to create rumors-we already have a coach who only one month ago was thought of as a great coach!
Plus going into retreat, which I think it is meant -leaving, eating and training at the training facility until the Napoli game and telling the players to respect the clubs colors is something I appreciate as well- they’re the one going onto the field not Pioli!
