Why would he sign a new contract with bigger release clause? I mean there is a line of clubs ready to activate the release clause. And the clubs are much bigger than Sampdoria which means his salary is gonna get higher anyways, if he just waits for a few months.
I have to say that seen him play 3 times this season and he has always delivered and his statistics seem also quite impressive. I hope we are the club that manage to snap him up. If I recall correctly we were with the first clubs to show our interest in him.
And Ferrero can’t offer him a salary that is big enough to justify 42 million release clause. Schick would be a fool to accept that clause.
