Ahead of Inter’s vital clash vs Napoli, CDS tried to explore different possible formations which Pioli might use in the match. The tabloid today quoted:
“Certainly Inter has failed to live up the game with all physical efforts. Inter is recently leaking in goals and there are few issues. Banega hasn’t been playing efficiently in the position and center backs are continuously making mistakes. The pivot covering isn’t well too. Gagliardini hasn’t been confident enough to play boldly in the past few weeks. Pioli might use a 4-3-3 with Gagliardini or Medel in front of the defense and Mario behind Icardi”

if Inter go with 4-3-3 its better to play with Kondo-Gaglia-Mario, this is the best technicaly player in midfield with balanced attacking and defence ability. I’m against medel because playing short player between two giant (gaglia-kondo) will destroy the tempo, the difference of height cause different style of play..
or pioli can go with banega at left side MF 4-3-3 like he was play in argentine NT.
This is the problem with the kondo-gaglia partnership, they are both too much of a “jack of all trades” type of player. Only one of them should be playing a given time.
We need a good experienced defensive midfielder in the summer and then stop using an AMC. There is no defensive coordination between defense and midfield, we have seen that many times now. None of Gagliadini or Kondo are true DM’s. A real DM is needed to organize this.

Could work. Medel’s just past it. Kondo is a box to box that can’t shoot or pass. He can take the ball from opponent and do a marseilles turn, lose the ball and run sluggishly back to defend. One of the weirdest box to box player ever, but I agree that he’s more box to box as he doesn’t know how position himself the whole game wisely enough to be DM.
4-3-3 but still with Dumbo and Yogatomo/Ansaldick guarding the sides against Mertens, Insigne and Callejon? Good luck 🙂

Gaglia and Medel start, Kondo gets the bench. That’s logic!
But medel is the only DM we have
Just look at Kondo’s tackles and ball winnings. Medel must be on the bench for keeping the lead at 70th+ minutes.
Have for a long time said the 4-3-3 is the system that suits our players the best. Medel is fine as a destroyer and Kondogbia and Gagliardini and Mario are all more box to box players than anything else, even though they all know how to play in other positions. And with a destroyer the defense gets more projection
4-1-2-1-2 is the best formation for our players… our defense is shaky so we should bring the game to Napoli like this

I like the good old 4-1-2-1-2 system that has brought so many medals. It offers balance and makes us very hard to break down. We played that way with Mancini and also with Mou , even though he played an ultra defensive 4-5-1 system against the biggest teams. Like he did in the final against Bayern or against Barca (it actually was more like a 6-3-1 against them).
But in the league Mou played with Eto’o and Milito on top and having Sneijder behind them. But we haven’t got the players for that system today. Our best players are Perisic, Icardi and Candreva’s crosses. He gets a lot of hate but he’s the one with the highest numbers in assists in the team. And playing them as fullbacks really doesn’t make sense.
