Inter are working on improving the midfield on the summer and are looking at two names in particular. Gazzetta dello Sport report that Grzegorz Krychowiak of PSG and Roma’s Kevin Strootman are the players in mind. Krychowiak was monitored last January and a meeting is scheduled for next week to discuss him. As for Strootman, Roma seem willing to negotiate his sale with him not looking likely to renew his current contract. Roma would want 35 million while Inter would rather offer 20 million although both sides are likely to meet in the middle somewhere.

Hmm Krychowiak behind the two box to box players: Strootman and Gagliardini with Mario on the left “wing” as he plays for Portugal and Berardi or another quality player (Mertens??) on the right could work!
Can’t see that midfield working. Mario’s best position is CM in a 3 man miedfield, so Gagliardini-Krychowiak-Mario should work.
Agree! He’s best in a box to box role. But he is playing on the left wing for Portugal but of course he drops in side all the time backing space for Coentrao to overlap

He has played like 4 games on the left side…. Actually he has played on the right side and central far more for portugal, so please stop pretending his best position is on the left..
He usually plays on the right or left when portugal plays 442 (4222) and central when they play 433.
J.Mario is not a winger, playing side midfielder occassionally =/= being a winger. Besides that he is better on the right side if he is to be used away from CM.
With the kind of low scoring midfielders Inter have (even more so if changing to using a DM instead of an AM), its crucial that all the 3 front men can score goals regularly and we all know thats not exactly J.Marios best feature.
Don’t agree… as I said he plays that position for Portugal a was superb in the final at the Euros playing there. He isn’t a winger no, but I’m not taking about him playing there like a Candreva going to the byline, but more like Robben does cutting inside and shooting/passing with his right foot at goal – that’s what he does for Portugal and that opens up play for the left back to overlap into….
Mario doesn’t score much no, but is young and new in Italy and surely has the technical abilities to score a lot in the future!
You disagree about what? Like i already wrote below, then he has only played on the left for the NT 4 times, the majority of times he has played central or on the right for the NT, depending if they use 442 or 433.
He has also never even scored a goal for the NT…..

Cambio,,,, a legend and I’d love to have him as a youth coach in the future but he’s turning 37 next summer so he’s not really one to gamble on to lead us back to the top?
