Speaking to TMW Radio, Roberto Mancini responded to the question of whether he could return to Inter in the future: “It seems to me that it’d be quite difficult, they should change so many things.”
The former Manchester City coach was then asked about the Nerazzurri’s current situation: “It takes time to build teams. Inter are on the right track, despite the negative results, but they do not have what it takes to win the title. Juventus, because of their mentality, remains the team to beat.”

I wish we wouldve kept this guy for this season.. FDB was a terrible mistake.
It’s easy to say now. Mancini was doing awful in preseason, losing 1-3 to PSG, 1-4 to Bayern, 1-6 to Tottenham, on top of wanting Yaya Toure for no good reason. Probably would have done better than FDB, but I can’t imagine a good season with Mancini either.
Pre season doesnt mean anything, the season before we lost all pre season games and ended up first by january, and now were being linked with de rossi.. makes me wonder if yaya toure wouldve actually been useful.
Not sure if I agree that preseason is meaningless. We were losing close games, not blown away by Tottenham 1-6.
Yaya Toure probably would have been useful, but wanting him means Mancini had no long-term vision because of Yaya’s age. Also don’t forget the crazy full-back shuffling he did, such as starting Montoya out of nowhere, wanting Santon and benching him, acquiring Erkin then he got immediately loaned out to Besiktas etc. Mancini didn’t come across as he knew what he was doing.
Erkin got sent on loan as soon as FDB came, he told him he could ride the bench or leave, Mancini still got us 4th in his first full season with us and with the transfers he wanted, he couldve atleast started this season solid and had defensive solidarity, he knows serie a inside out, and even benched icardi for jovetic, causing icardi to step his game up, he criticized players for missing chances as well, id rather draw games than lose games personally, and the one game montoya played we won like 4-1, he was dribbling and crossing but wasnt inter material, but none of our fullbacks have room to talk, mancini also was tactically aware, like when he started jovetic, ljajic and perisic at once and we destroyed roma, he knew that our attack would be way more fluid rather than icardi making us a man down cause he cant hold the ball effectively or dribble past defenders. But someone like jovetic could if he needed to. Mancini wasnt perfect, he made late and questionable substitutions but atleast he could attract talent to the club, i think with players like banega, mario, and candreva along with our decent squad from last year, we would be atleast top 4 for the season i bet.
One of the reasons why Mancini left was because of Joorabchian eating Inter alive by shoving mediocre Gabigol and Mario at hefty price tags.
The Suning Group also listened to Joorabchian on Pioli hiring over Marcelino. We’re all paying a huge price for their lack of football knowledge and even worse, listening to an agent for the club’s direction (which club asks Mino Raiola for coaching decisions, for example. Asking Joorabchian is no different)
We must cut ties with Joorabchian ASAP to get back to where we need to be.
Mancini i believe left because the management were keeping him in the dark and didnt involve him or make him feel welcome at all.
I’m not sure if that was the primary reason. Iirc the no-signing of Yaya and leecher Joorabchian (whom he hated since Man City days) were the primary reasons (you can search Google for sources about this story).
Nooo please come back and bring Melo and Montoya again
