Former Inter manager Leonardo examined Inter’s current dire situation on Sky Sport: “I think the club is missing a reference point. Yesterday on the pitch there were not the players who should give quality: Joao Mario, Banega and Brozovic. And Icardi is another example, he’s the captain but this person should represent the club. Things have changed, Pioli had found a solution but after first defeat he lost everything. But I’m not talking in this way because I want to return: I don’t want to. I only want Inter to return as a big club.”

Please come back and help us return as a big club then, because 7 years is obviously not enough for this fools in charge…
I hoped also he would return to us as DS, but his answer seems to be categorical no based on this interview. Damn it.
A lot of people are against Conte coming in because of his Juventus past but at the same time people are almost begging a former Milan legend, both as a player and as a director to re-joine us….
I too want Leo back but as a director not a coach. But as a director he has showed he knows how to find and convince great players to join Milan and PSG.
I´m one of those people, but of course no to Leo being a coach. There is so much venom between Juve and Inter fans after calciopoli that I believe Conte might not succeed here. If Gaglia going to Juve match causes uproar among ultras then how will they get along with Conte? With that said Conte is the best italian manager by far at the moment.
I too is split right down into two parts about Conte and that´s also the reason for me “teasing” you with my comment.
When you want to create an Italian Inter with more young Italian players in the squad who´s then better and have more knowledge about players abilities, skills and who they behave than a former Italian national coach and his former National Team Manager?
Plus Conte did exactly that at Juve, creating a core of Italians that have worked together for years and who today are the back bone to this great Juve we see dominating Serie A and Europe…
And the other hand the man is a Juve legend as player and coach – but hey, so was Lippi. I guess that those who will be the most upset about Conte joining us will be the Juve Ultras, especially if he becomes a success at Inter.
If we want great players to join we need a great name coach to drag them to Inter – and with Conte about to do the double in England he´d be precisely that!
tactically he´s also very flexible and I would love to see the 3-4-3 with the players we have/are going to sign, where as Simeone seems a bit stuck at the moment in his 4-4-2. It´s like the opponent has understood how to stop him. Besides, playing on the counter will only take you this far in Serie A where everyone parks the bus at the San Siro…
But as I said; I´m like you; totally slit in two…
Yeah, a really hard one this Conte thing. He is pretty much the best motivator in the game, something our players need badly. But his strong affiliation with Juve might make his marriage with Inter an unhappy one.
I believe Simeone could do well here, but it does seem guys like Zidane have found away around his tactics. But Zizou does have pretty much the best squad in the world at his disposal. New environment and challenge could do some good for Cholo. And even if this is one of his worst seasons at Atleti they are still in UCL semis and third in spanish league.
Getting either one doesn´t seem very likely atm, but I prefer to dream that Simeone is a serious candidate for our bench.
I just want our beloved club to the top and away from being the laughing stock of the hole Italy and if that takes hiring Conte so be it. He´s name is also “bigger” both world wide and defiantly in Italy so he´d be good at getting the best players to join (as I already wrote once;) – even Verratti could fell tempted to join him because they know each other from the National team…
Conte Best Italian manager ? What are you smoking ? He’s never made it passed the quarter finals in CL but then wait, you must think Mancini is a great coach, yet again another guy who has never made it passed the quarter finals in CL. May i remind you that Conte should have won Europa League at Home and blew it so that he can sooth his ego and get 102 points in a season. The best italian coach is by far is Allegri – then comes Spaletti. Don’t try arguing it cuz it’s true
Allegri and Conte are both really good. Funny how most of you Juvefans are starting to love Allegri now that he is close to his second CL final. You´ve been nothing but criticizising him during his whole tenure. Allegri is good, but Conte is better. Allegri will not win the CL for you and then you´ll be hating on him again…
never me, i was a supporter of Allegri even in His Cagliari days and when Milan fired him i was praying that he would coach juve one day. I felt bad for him at AC Milan because Galliani gave him Bonera, Zapata and mexes at CB so how the f**k is he supposed to win ? Allegri is more tactically suited for CL soccer (along with Spalletti) than conte and/or Mancini per se it’s just reality
I’m not gonna deny that. Allegri has done better in CL than Conte. But Spalletti has had those horrible 7-1 type losses at that competition and just lost to Lyon in EL. I don’t rate Spalletti’s work in european competitions very high.
don’t look at that stuff because so Has Ranieri taken breatings in CL. Remember Ranieri’s Juve lost 4-1 once to Hamburg ? yet he took a team called Leichester City to first place and quarterfinals in CL….who could have thought that Ranieri could do that even after selling arguably their best midfielder Kante ?? I feel bad for Pioli because inter today is like Strama’s Inter – 1 point behind Juve and they finished 9th place. Strama had the excuse of having 9 players injured but what’s Pioli’s excuse ????
