“Stick with him, even if he goes to bathroom”
These were the the exact words what Mourinho told Chivu before the Champions League Final in 2010. In a recent interview to TuttoMercatoWeb the former Nerazzurri defender recalls the magical night:
“I had to stop Robben, Mourinho assigned that duty to me and it wasn’t easy at all. He told me to even follow Robben in the bathroom”
He then recalled how he ended up at Inter:
“Roma wanted to sell me, they didn’t offer me the extension. They wanted to sell me outside Italy, mainly to Real Madrid but I only had Inter in Mind.”
