British tabloid Independent today published that Atletico manager Diego Simeone will stay at the club for at-least one more year and he has already started planning to shape up his team for the coming season. Premier League stars Alexis Sanchez and Jamie Vardy are his primary targets for the transfer window.

Historically, yes. However, they’ve actually overtaken us already on Deloitte Football Money League: https://www2.deloitte.com/uk/en/pages/sports-business-group/articles/deloitte-football-money-league.html
We’re #19 and Atleti are #13, and without EL next season we’re likely crashing out of top #20 also.
That’s only because we haven’t been in cl for years now! Even though we have sucked for 6 years we’re still number 19 in world when it comes to selling shirts world wide ..
That’s a good way to put it. It will be a matter of time we fall even further though. This club is nowhere near where we used to be.
why not fabio capello? maybe just for 2 years
Just do whatever it takes to get simeone next season, put 50m in the table to get him. But if his will is not with inter then I can understand, and I can say screw you simeone
ok “big” simeone. you will always be in gte best scenario, 3rd or 4th club in spain. zidan made a fool of you in two games… honestly, I’m not too much impressed with your kung-fu football, which is still better than this inter misery we see nowadys, must admit.
——————– nobody has on mind name of german coach: joachim loew ?!?!
inter needs to start almost from sketch, and he can sinchronyze sectors in club with new managers; youth sector, first team, take care of development of young players …
interesting name, but poorly this inter don’t wanna wait, never wanna wait. we prefer to sack coach every season than build from scratch. but well, with oriali and sabatini, hope our blind eyes eventually unfolded
You know, now that everyone is seeing that the players are the ones to be blamed, this reflects the missing bond between the management and the players and in my opinion sacking FDB was very wrong
Another German name_____Klinsmann!
I told you he had always been mr. godot.
what happened with legendary dinner with inter legend and compatriot zanetti ?!?!
bad dish ?!?
didn’t they say he’s gonna make it happen ?!?
————— zanetti, zanetti, … you are the best seller of snake oil, EVER !
thanks God you left inter … because you are:
– not a coach,
– not a manager,
– not anything useful for inter after you stopped playing.
oh yes, you have a big smile ! thanks, but there’s no need for such a “contributor”, just hang his picture on the wall among many others.
British tabloids? they are much worse than Tuttoshit
Alexis and Vardy at Atletico? hahahahaha what a big BS
The seat at his “beloved” club is available a club that now is getting a very strong management together and has shit loads of money to spend on quality players – unlike his way smaller Atelitco club. But STILL he stays!!??
He’s got a contract till 2018, and they have another shot at CL next year with Atletico unlike Inter who can’t even go to EL. Of course he will stay. That’s why sacking Pioli was a bad idea (Inter has to pay Pioli and the new coach next season).
Play with Vechi then…but give him strong pair of fullbacks…
and if Ozil, Di Maria and Benzema wants a new scenery, bought them in.
I have the feeling that Vecchi will be given a contract for next season
After last years final, which he lost against Real he reflected deeply over his future at Atletico but he decided to stay on and try again this year. Now, after the defeat to Real AGAIN, he said that the gap between them and the best in Europe is huge and they need to invest a lot to get up there.
Atletico isn’t a club that lacks money but it isn’t a club that spends a lot and not a club that have the ability to attract the best players in the world either – we, INTER are!
We are a huge name in the world of football, a giant and now we have all the money in the world from the pockets of Suning, so joining us NOW makes perfectly sense!
He is loyal to Atleti and I respect that a lot, but at the same time hate the fact that, as you said, now would be a perfect timing for us.
It’s not about money. Simeone has played for a number of clubs including Atletico, Inter, Lazio…it’s not just Inter whom he likes.
Also, the fact that he shortened the contract from 2020 to 2018 means he is loyal enough to honor contracts, rather than bailing out in the middle of it. On top of that, Atletico got CL next year whereas Inter couldn’t even make EL.
It is a sure bet that Simeone stays till the end of 17-18.
Agree with everything you said – it´s all true. But still all his statements the resent year about him “loving Inter” and that “he would love to return to Inter one day” which he has said repeatedly the last year, sounds really hollow right?
I wouldn’t mind Conte coming in and taking us back to the top which he has done everywhere he has been.
Why does it sound hollow? He had contract till 2020 and shortened to 2018, presumably to come to Inter earlier. But this is still 2017 my friend…
As for Conte, it’d be great if he comes but again he’s got 2 years with Chelsea left + they got CL. There’s little reason for him to come to Inter right now.
You have hear about cancelling a contract (buying our self out of it or simply have it torn by mutual content)? Mourinho did it after the treble and joined Real…
If they really want to come they will!
Simeone already shortened the contract by 2 years. That’s very generous and we can’t complain about it. Also, Mourinho’s case is a bit different because Mourinho went for an upgrade (Inter to Real) whereas Atleti to Inter is a downgrade (as much as I love Inter, let’s face it – it is a downgrade without CL, or even EL).
Next year won’t be year zero, it will be year -1 , I feel we’re out of options regarding a world class head coach, if this is the case then we should not invest big this summer
SO you want to see Inter to keep playing with mediocre players?
No, I prefer us to spend 150 millions in the market, and sack two coaches next season so the third comes in the next summer and asks for another 150 millions for different players and ask the club to sell the previous and them kick this coach out, this is way better
funny how indeed we spent much in the transfer market, but not to catch good players, but with the hiring-firing-coach DRAMA in every single season?! SMH LMAO
Exactly bro, and this not building at all, so year zero didn’t start yet
