The PROBLEM on signing a player like Di Maria is the fact that he is nearing the 30 mark, he is a winger —> his pace etc might start to decline soon. and other problem that I see would be the fee that PSG wants of him. I imagine that it will be +40M and his wages at PSG are really high. He currently earns 9-12M/year. It would mess up the wage balance in the team if he comes and earns +3-4M more than anyone other. How would Icardi etc for example react to that? Would he demand more salary since he is also one of the top players.
On the other hand, he is a great player and might still easily play 3-4 seasons at the very top. I do like his playstyle and ability to challenge 1 on 1 situations. But still, his wages would be the same as Marquinhos and Krychowiaks combined. If we imagine that we could sign them.
My first choice as a top player signing would still be James, considering his age, potential and he would be a player to build around. His wages would be around the same as Di Marias and a bit higher transfer fee I imagine. OR we just skip the superstar label signing and sign Marquinhos, Manolas, Conti, Mendy or R.Rodriguez, Krychowiak and Berardi. Then just get rid of the deadwood and enjoy.

He was amazing last season.
Not so great this season, which considering his age and the type of player he is, probably means decline.
He makes alot of assists, but isnt a great goalscorer. If Perisic goes, then another player capable of scoring 10+ for LW is needed.
Have never liked him
In fact that isn’t a really surprise – we have been working quite closely together with the super agent Jorge Mendes lately and players like James, Pepe and Di Maria are all his clients so if they end up at Inter it wouldn’t come as much of surprise.
