In an exclusive interview with FcInterNews.it, Aron Winter spoke all things Inter, including the future of the club and dutch players linked with the Nerazzurri.

The former Inter player was at a football event for refugees called Football Clinic, which was also held in front of the Dutch royalists.

“It’s also good for us, it’s not something to meet the Dutch royal family every day. The reason we are here is beautiful and I’m happy that there are other footballers of great importance here too,” Winter said of the event.

The Dutchman was then asked about his memory of his time in Italy, where he played for Lazio and Inter.

“I was very happy in Italy. In 1999 I returned to Holland for family reasons, otherwise I would have stayed. I was here for seven years, it’s been good to me, it’s my second country.”

Ajax’s under-19 coach then spoke about what the future holds for Inter, for whom he played 77 games for.

“We hope it goes well, I was following them at the beginning of the year when my dear friend Frank De Boer was on the bench. I’m sorry that he didn’t get time and the confidence but that’s football.

“Unfortunately, in the last few days the team did not do well. A team such as Inter should be at least in the top three in Serie A and win something every year. Instead many coaches have been changed in recent years, meaning something has not been done to its best, but I hope Inter go back to where it deserves.”

Winter was then asked about Dutch players that are currently being linked to Inter, including Rick Karsdorp of Feyenoord.

“To play in Serie A you have to be strong, it’s not an easy championship. In Holland you play in another way. I hope he does well, but I think it’s a premature step for him to go to Italy, because the level is very high,” Winter concluded.
