Zenit St Petersburg’s Sporting Director Konstantin Sarsania spoke on the clubs pursuit of Jeison Murillo to Sports.ru: “I can say that he is a player that Mancini knows very well and is someone that we are interested in, although he is not one of the first names we have in mind.”
Murillo was subject to a bid from the Russian club last year and was close to being involved in a swap deal that would have seen Ezequiel Garay move to Inter. The move never materialised and Garay instead ended up with Valencia.
Sarsania also spoke about Inter’s Gary Medel: “We were interested in Medel, but now that path is closed.”
The Chilean has a wealth of interest in his services and Inter have already accepted a €5 million bid from Turkish club Trabzonspor. Despite this, the Pitbull has shown a preference to returning to Boca Juniors, who have also shown an interest.
