A lot of the negativity and people being pissed here is just basic pub psychology stuff in my mind. When the new year kicked off we were bombarded by news of Verratti’s and Sanchez’s and Suning revolutionizing the transfer market. Then during the spring we had Manolas and Nainggolan and so on. That got fans dreaming of the past glory days with Moratti coming back.
Now that it seems Inter might not be spending like crazy and peoples great expectations have been disappointed. Add to that the history of bad management since Branca and we have lots of negativity. For me it’s fine if Inter has a more low key market with promising youngsters and going for Borussia Dortmund model or something resembling that. Just that they do it well is fine for me. We can get 3rd or 4th place with a team that clicks without star signings.
I haven’t called Suning frauds, but they were clueless last summer buying JM and Gabigol while other departments in the squad should have been improved. But they have shown the willingness to invest to this club. They also probably got taken for a ride by Kia. It seemed almost like they were playing FM with the club, but nothing new there as Moratti did that all the time during his early years. This summer they have in my opinion failed badly in communication with the fans. If we go for lower key market respecting FFP etc. they could have communicated that to fans somehow and not let us be living in dreams of instant grandeur. It is this gap with dream and reality that gets fans mostly negative and pissed of here. But we have Sabatini and now most likely a long term planning in place. But it would be nice to be informed what that plan is. I’m personally hopeful for the clubs future with Suning, but this team still needs a lot from transfer market to have good odds to compete for CL place next season.
I’m myself, I don’t know how to describe it, but something like bipolar with highs and lows sometimes during one day regarding this transfer market. Most of it stems from not knowing where Suning stands with its ambition. They have the resources to build and probably management now to do it, but there is so much to do. And Milan creating a competitive team at the same time doesn’t help. I understand most of the negativity here, because I do have those doubts. It’s just hard to say where this club is going right now. If you bothered reading this essay I congratulate you. The main point is expectation gap + recent history of bad management = most of this negativity.
Yes, they don’t know anything about the sport ,we got that.
