No as I understood it, he just pointed out that we already had a song squad and with players like Handa, Miranda, Gagliardini, J.Mario, Valero, Broso (still think Spalletti can make something of him), Candreva/Gabi (who has been doing really well in our training games lately), Perisic (if he stays)/ Eder and Icardi/Pinamonti we already have a very solid foundation to build upon. Yes we need 2-3 defenders (we already signed Skriniar but one more is needed, maybe Dalbert, Lemos and Darmian/Vrasjko, a midfielder (I hope for Naingolan or Vidal but maybe they are unrealistic), Keita or Perisic and Berardi/Bernardeschi for Candreva….
Still, our squad is really strong and only need 3-4 new faces…

The difference between us and other teams such as Milan and United are the financial situation. Just as many teams we have wealthy owners, but the difference is that we and a handful other teams have been been punished by UEFA for breaking FFP rules. In the reached agreement with UEFA, we had some financial goals we had to reach this summer, which we did when selling players until the end of june. But we are still not clear from UEFA’s observant eyes, we have to show them good financial conditions for the next 2 years as well. That is why we have to sell more players like Perisic and hopefully successfully replace with younger and cheaper options who raise in value as Ivan once did.
United and many other teams in the PL have such good finances due to PL being this big, which results in high sums of money from merchandise, sponsors, ticket sales, tv-money etc. etc. Beside us also Roma and Monaco (lower taxes for the team and players) got fines by UEFA, but due to them playing in the CL and selling many of their players for high transfer fees they are in a better financial place than Inter. Milan have not been under investigation by UEFA and have no deal with them, so they can have their owners/investors push in a lot of capital in to the club for transfers. Let’s say that they reach the CL, well then the risky bet turned out to a good one. They might get fines and have to play with a smaller squad in the CL/EL, but so be it. Because they then already increased income from ticket sales, new sponsorship deals, some transfer money from selling, tv-money and prize money.
