Kovacic is not the player we need, we have Mario, Valero and even Broso to do what he does and who all does it better than Kovacic. Even Vecino does that job of linking midfield and attack together better than Kovacic!
If we need a new defender it should be a leader, an experienced player to show the way for the younger players, a player with charisma like Nainggolan or Vidal! A player with BALLS- not Kovacic!
I disagree because no one in our team does what he does. Who in our current team runs with the ball at there feet like him? He would definitely link our mid and Def better than who we have now. However I can agree with you when you said we don’t need him now. How Spelletti plays is very compact and minimize the distance you move for the ball other then on the wings so no need to take the ball and run long distances. Kondogbia should thrive in this system. I would exchange him with Brozovic.
That’s why we need Vecino – he is great at bringing the ball forward at his feet as you describes it.
Vecino is a strong tackler, technically he’s great, he has brilliant long passes and links up perfectly with Valero so….
