Sky Sports’ Matteo Marani spoke on Matias Vecino’s move to Inter: “In my opinion, the release clause was not high enough: he is not a player who steals the eye, but he performs with great continuity. I’m curious to see where Spalletti will use him, Whether behind the striker or in the middle near to Borja Valero.”

Spalletti has already stated we will play a 4231, idk where some of you are thinking we’ll play a 433. Also we don’t have the right CM for a 433.
I would disagree on that.
The midfielders we have actually suits 433 better, since we dont have a real AM and no real DM. Good passing CM’s like Valero and Mario fits perfectly for a 433 (not that different in style to Xavi and iniesta, though obviously in quality).
For a 4231 you ideally need a real AMC playmaker to distribute the play and a be a danger from distance and a proper defensive midfielder like we had in Cambiasso and Schneijder back in the day. Inter have neither of those right now.
What Inter doesnt have for a 433 are the right forwards. Candreva and Perisic are wingers and for a 433 you ideally want forwards in the “wide” positions who are more of a goalscoring threat and cuts inside on most occassions.
I’m specifically talking about the about the CM in a 433 not the LM or RM. I just honestly think no one currently can play that role effectively, that’s just my feeling. I could be wrong… And I agree Mario is not a AMF.
there are rumours we going to steal riyad mahrez from roma nose in a secret operation. If we need RW that can cut insider, he fits the bill. what do you guys think?
too good to be true
Inter would play 4231 certainly agree, but with vecino we have option to play 433 in the match that much more need midfield battle like vs Napoli or Roma
4-3-3 flat mid without no real AM, the side mid will need to play box to box. It is like the old inter pre-sneijder era, and napoli under Sarri. If it is true, this formation suit Gaglia, Vecino, and brozo style of play but there will be no room for J.M, is this a sign for J.M to leave?
Yes it’s very possible. There is a new breaking news that Inter are trying to negotiate with PSG to swap Mario with Julian Draxler. However, it depends on Neymar’s arrival at PSG though. If Draxler left out and comes to Inter, we will surely play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 since he can play at LW, RW and AM position. Spalletti has been asking for skillful wingers who can dribble fast, cut inside and provided assists/goals consistently. Perisic fits perfectly but JM and Candreva don’t fit his requirements. Honestly, it would be a joy to watch Perisic – Icardi – Draxler combo. And if Candreva gone to Chelsea, we could close Balde Keita deal anytime. IMHO, this is a very interesting mercato so far. We are surely playing a slow mercato but much smarter thanks to Sabatini’s factor.
lol at the release clause not being high enough xD, i wonder why top clubs all over the world werent lining up to pay this “low” release clause then?
He definitely wont be used as AM lol. He has none of the qualities that a good AM should posses so thats definitely out of the question.
He will obviously play CM. What will be interesting to see is if he will be the prefered starter over Fagliardini, something i actually hope despite not being thinking much about Vecino.
The midfield is pretty much set now, unless someone actually makes an offer for Brozovic which doesnt seem likely.
We have no real AM, but thats fine since the defensive ability of the midfielders arent the greatest, so slotting an offensive minded CM into that position will offer abit more defensive cover. It will be more like a “false” AMC thats more withdrawn.
So we have Vecino, Kondogbia and Fags where atleast one will always be in one of the two CM spots and then Mario, Valero and Brozo who can potentially all play in both the CM and the “false” AM positions.
So there is room for plenty of rotation.
don’t forget there’s still Jovetic for AM place (assuming he doesn’t get sold). and JMario can rotate with him on that spot.
so there’s a possibility we play 4-2-1-3 or 4-2-3-1. with the two CM posts contested among Valero, Vecino, Gagli, Kondog, and Brozo. and if (I wish) the club finally found a buyer for Brozo this summer then our midfield is complete. with each post having two players available for rotation.
DM: Valero / Gagli
CM: Vecino / Kondo
AM: Jovetic / JMario
What are your thoughts of playing Valero at AM every now and then? And Vecino and Gag at CM in 4231… If Mario doesn’t work out in AM role the long run we’ll have to switch things up.
I curious, why do you call Gagliardini = Fags / Fagliardini?
A bit confusing when we have 6 midfielders for serie A and coppa only
I really hope we get rid of Brozovic and not Joao Mario. Maybe Mancini can do us a favour and persuade Brozo to join Zenit… I’m also expecting that Medel goes..
In my eyes we would be set with 4-2-3-1 formation as Valero – Vecino – Gagliardini – Kondogbia playing in the double pivot role. And Joao Mario starting as an attacking midfielder. With these players we would have enough depth at the squad in case someone gets injured.
Prolly a CAM.
Play in 4-3-3 including Gagliardini, Vecino and Valero in the midfield and Berardi, Icardi and Candreva in attack (assuming we sign with Berardi).
We heard the rumor that candreva is on his way out to chelsea… if that’s true than i think our attack will be berardi – icardi – keita, or gabigol – icardi – keita, or dimaria – icardi – gabigol… i dunno just a prediction
Judging by his performance in Fiorentina he is best being one of the two in something like 4-2-3-1.
