Joao Maro had to adapt to calcio and to 2 coaches with different styles so no, Inter haven’t tried to convert him to a 10 really. He’s young and he has potential, Spalletti transformed Radja into a beast in just one season. Have faith
We lack a player like Sneijder. A guy that can make that amazing pass inside the box from anywhere and can take a shot from a large distance and score. I really miss that guy

Since we aim a top 4 finish, I don’t think he is a reasonable gamble.
This is a very problematic position to fill in since there a dearth of no 10 around these days (perhaps its due to CR7 and friends’ influence on footballing trends).
Love to see he and Inter make amends thou. He is one of our legends, no matter what happened then.
Beside, since he actually paid Gala EUR4.5 mil to terminate his contract, although technically he is a free agent, he will expect at least the same money as signing bonus from any club wish to sign him.
He probably able to contribute just decently for a maximum of 2 years / 2 seasons from now (until end of 2018/19 season = 33/34 years old).
Could not see how he could be great for us if he come, but I will be very glad if I am wrong.
James Rodriguez would have bee great choice (now I know precisely why Suning wanted him then) but he have been ignoring / rejecting Inter approaches (and finally choose Bayern), I hope he fail big time in Germany.
I hope J Mario can be transformed into world-beater no 10 by Spalletti, but doubt it would be successful.
We require an instant solution for this position and I honestly can’t see a no 10 that we can buy (must be a great n 10, not mediocre) or willing to come to Inter (no European game).

Joao Mario has shined this past summer. Not sure why people are already hating a player who’s young, had 1 season to adapt to Serie A after coming from a much weaker league. Give him a bit of time jesus… If he fails this year then fine but don’t put a player down who has barely had time to show his true potential

I dont think there is really room for a nr.10, it will require too much defensive sacrifice since we dont have any great defensive midfielder and our midfielders in general are pretty bad at defending.
Because of this then the “amc” in our 4231 should play deeper and be in much more contact defensively with the rest of the midfield than a natural nr.10 would normally be, or else the defense will suffer too much.
Valero should be able to supply a decent amount of assists from midfield anyways, but we will suffer for lack of goalscoring ability in midfield.
If (when?) Perisic (and maybe Candreva) is sold then some more lethal offensive players should be bought and they should not be the traditional winger types (backline often, crosses constantly etc etc), but more the wide/inside forward type who runs at the defense, cuts inside most of the time, gets into scoring positions etc etc.
If you have a low scoring midfield, then its not feasible to use traditional wingers, who usually dont score that much, then you need more direct forwards who can guarantee 10+ goals each.

No one great, thats for sure. Nr.10 are traditionally the most sought after player type as great ones dont appear that often.
It would either be a gamble on someone unknown or low profile/limited quality or else it would be someone with obvious issues, like Pastore with his injuries.
