Besiktas have confirmed the signing of Gary Medel from Inter via social media. The reigning Turkish champions announced the Chilean in the same fashion they have announced all of their summer signings with a “ComeToBesiktas” announcement. No details have been unveiled yet but will arrive in due course.

He would’ve been useful as a sub but then again he most likely wants to be starter, is aging and was on quite high salary, so it made sense in some ways. I’m okay with this move as long as we get some backup, otherwise if we sell Murilo we’re screwed regarding CB depth.

I think medel isnt going to neck spalletti if he’s bench. He’s a professional. One of the value we lost for only 3m. The positives that he could give is much more than 3m. Not to mention now we must find two CBs otherwise rano is staying.

What a shame. Id rather keep him and let him go for free next season rather than selling him for peanut and have to buy two CBs in this inflated market. He’s a solid back up.
