The intent was obviously to put Dalbert as the starter at LB. Unfortunately it doesn’t always work out, and his preseason debacle put Dalbert neck-to-neck with Nagatomo, which is actually a healthy competition. Dalbert shouldn’t be assuming starting positions when he’s not playing well.
This is nothing unusual. Just look at Real Madrid who brought in Danilo with the expectations to beat out Carvajal at RB, Carvajal played better and Danilo’s now gone to City.
please lets not compare carvajal to nagatomo. it is emberassing. nagatomo was already preffered over full backs who always showed a lot more talent and skill than him because he got the yakuza/hes selling shirts/he is perfect.
I’m just illustrating a situation where the newcomer got sent packing before the old-timer got replaced. Not saying this will be the case with Dalbert, however the pre-season game was unconvincing.
