Why offer anything more than rube was offering even that was too much
Its because his release clause (that Rube activated) no longer exists.
Im not sure why it doesnt exists anymore though, but thats the reason Inter & Roma cant just offer what Rube did and why we have this bidding war now.

The 3 mil isn’t the important part, it’s that we don’t want to pay upfront, that is at least what other reports have been indicating.
It might be more about the method of payment than couple of millions. Clubs aren’t really enthusiastic about parting ways with in demand players for some two year loans with obligations to buy. We have to just hope that Schick, Mangala and our possible other targets really only want to join us. Otherwise it ain’t looking too good for us when you don’t have money to pay straight up.
