Italian media continue to point out Inter’s lack of depth in the heart of defence. First choice central defenders Milan Skriniar and Joao Miranda are only backed up by former captain Andrea Ranocchia and untested 19 year old Zinho Vanheusden.
Due to this, Cristian Zaccardo has been approached by La Beneamata. The 35 year old is currently a free agent having left Vicenza in the summer. Zaccardo has had spells with Milan and Wolfsburg during his 17 year career that started at Bologna.
Speaking to SportMediaset, the 2006 World Cup winner had the following to say on a possible move to Inter: “I am now a free agent but I am working everyday to keep myself fit. I hope to get a call from any team soon and if it comes from a great club like Inter then it will just be great.”
