Marco Materazzi spoke to reporters as he was a guest of Inter Club Peppino Prisco. The former Inter central defender spoke on what stopped he joining Milan before the 2006 World Cup: “Milan? I stayed thanks to Facchetti, he looked after me and didn’t allow me to go to the other side.”

Materazzi then discussed why there is not a photo of the Inter team that won five trophies in a calendar year: “Mourinho and Leonardo? After the semi-finals against Barcelona, Mourinho told me that I’d play in the Champions League Final. I don’t even have a photo with the five cups we won in those years: we had to have it, but Leonardo didn’t let us. I was all prepared for the picture with my real cup, the one I have tattooed the World Cup, but that day Leo said, ‘it’s not happening anymore.’ That’s why we don’t have a historic photo with the five cups.”
