Il Giorno report that Jose Gimenez is in Inter’s mind for the January transfer window. The Nerazzurri are looking to add to their central defence department with options currently limited.

The Atletico Madrid player has under a year remaining on his contract with Atleti and as of January 1 will be able to negotiate a pre-contract with any club of his choosing. There is currently a €65 million release clause in his contract and Atleti would more than likely accept a cut price offer for the Uruguayan in January to avoid losing him on a free in the summer. Another reason behind this is, the Spanish club are looking to raise funds for Diego Costa to return to the club.

Gimenez is just one of a whole host of names the Nerazzurri are thinking about with summer targets Eliaquim Mangala, Shkodran Mustafi and Rolando all still in their mind.
