Luciano Spalletti spoke to Inter Channel prior to his press conference ahead of tomorrow’s away fixture against Bologna.
A thought on Eugenio Bersellini?
“I never had the chance to meet him but I certainly appreciate him by being passionate of calcio. You can never forget the period he had with Sampdoria of Vialli and Mancini, he gave ideas for which players believed, head strong and gave indication for which the team followed. I want to pay my condolences to the Bersellini family along with everyone from the Inter Community.”
How do you prepare for a match in such short time frame?
“It’s all the same thing, we (Inter) must create awareness to not go into auto-pilot mode. We must continuously turn each and every corner and there are still plenty of corners to turn. We need to be head-strong to witness the challenge ahead.”
Where do you believe Skriniar can go? Can he reach the levels of that of Sergio Ramos or Pique?
“Let’s keep calm, let’s let the player continue to perform along with his teammates. He’s a very talented player and has the capabilities to become a great one.”
Inter will are set to play another mid-week match on the Road, what are the advantages?
“Let’s not live from the results in the past but continuously stay focused, study and push to improve. Our team still needs to grow.”
Will we see an Inter play with two forwards?
“There very well could be, however, it’s important to have equilibrium in our team. There is no such reason to make any modifications if it will affect the team’s equilibrium, but if there is a necessity we can even play with three up top, it really all depends on how the team reacts to certain moments. If we fail to deliver to Icardi and Perisic is far from the form of play it then becomes very difficult to distribute the ball to them.”
Will there be any such space for Zaniolo and Odgaard? Any comment on the Derby?
“With Stefano Vecchi our relationship is very direct, I ask him often for updates on training and how hard the Primavera are working. We took away from him one of their pillars in Zinho Vanheusden and Vecchi still leads the team in winning, now I will put additional difficult on him.”
