Gazzetta dello Sport have looked in to the poor crossing from Inter against Bologna on Tuesday night. Antonio Candreva attempted no less than 22 crosses but just two were successful. They have found that 13.79% of Candreva’s 58 cross attempts this year have been unsuccessful.
For the sake of comparison, Gazzetta also looked at Ivan Perisic’s crossing numbers and found he has a success rate of just 11.54%. The Croatian however has made a much larger contribution in other areas of the pitch almost making up for his poor crossing numbers.

and yet Candy still has a lot blind-crosses to show.
Summary: Candreva need to define more of his role, other than traditional winger with plenty of crosses.

What a bullshit stat. What is the criteria used to classify a cross a successful or not. Even a 3 years old knows that Perisic is way better crosser than that crap Candreva
Peresic has 3 goals and 3 assists, right? Stop defending Italian players.
This just shows that Peresic can do something else other than cross.
but perisic scored more than candreva. that’s the point. candreva should try to cut in or try shoot from outside of the box. i notice that he actually have a wicked shot.
If Candreva cuts in from the right, he pretty much has to shoot with his weaker left foot. Perišić is two footed, he doesn’t have this problem. Perhaps the best role for Candreva is number 10 role. I mean, he has all the qualities to play there but then we would lack a proper winger on the right.
4-3-3 with Mario as right cm, going out as a right mid while Candreva moves into a trequartista role and D’Ambrosio staying back. On the otherside Dalbert overlaps Perisic. 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 in defence, 3-4-2-1/3-4-1-2 in offence.
he start his career as a CM, maybe we should try him in AM role. who knows we would get a new candreva..^^
