Another Inter game, another late 2nd half goal, another clean sheet and most importantly another 3 points. Luciano Spalletti has a few selection issues coming up as Antonio Candreva has another stinker.

Samir Handanovic – 7: Didn’t have much to do apart from one save on Omeonga but led the defense today. All his experience and ability is magnified when he is calm.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 7: Had a few difficult moments but got through them. The goal lifted impending doom and gloom and mostly kept the right side under control.

Milan Skriniar – 6.5: Looked tired but didn’t have many options to pass the ball too as Borja was shadowed all the time. Will get some good rest in before Benevento.

Joao Miranda – 6.5:Just like Skriniar he played all 3 games this week and looked tired towards the end. Kept his cool and ensured that Handanovic wasn’t very busy.

Dalbert – 6: Like D’Ambrosio he also had a struggle in the first 60 mins, then when Eder came on Dalbert used the ball and spaces very well especially in the last 15 minutes.

Borja Valero – 6:  Was marked as Genoa knew he would control the game from the middle, used all his strength, experience and ability but ran out of steam.

Matias Vecino – 6.5: Tried to combine quality and quantity today and was virtually everywhere in the 2nd half. Showed good tactical awareness. Workhorse.

Antonio Candreva – 4.5: When you are the first one to be subbed off it shows that the coach doesn’t appreciate your work. Unwatchable. Surely our poorest player today.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6: Turned off and on quite a bit today. His linkup ideas were good but the execution was lacking. But he helped Borja and Vecino a lot defensively.

Ivan Perisic – 5.5: Not the usual world-class winger we are used to today. Needs more time with Dalbert and didn’t really get under Genoa’s skin for me.

Mauro Icardi – 5.5: Always isolated upfront and today he even put in a last ditch defensive tackle and tried to get involved. Still 24 touches in 90 mins is too little.

Eder – 7: If you look up the word Supersub in the dictionary you will find Eder. He did exactly what Spalletti wanted him to do, should have scored.

Yann Karamoh – 6.5: When Spalletti told us that this guy is quick and can burn the ground beneath him, he wasn’t wrong. Can shoot from distance as well. Promising.

Joao Mario – 6.5: Great impact just like Eder. His qualities are better utilised as a Central mid and it showed today. Won the important header that got Omeonga sent off.

Luciano Spalletti – 7.5: His team was slow and predictable so he made the right subs in by putting the quickest players in. Each player knew their role and position well.

Marco Guida – 5: The red cards were justified but Guida missed too many fouls on both sides. Perisic should have been booked and so should a few Genoa players too for diving.

Inter – 6: The result lets us work in peace and keeps us 3rd in the league, however we cant always keep winning in the last 10 mins. Work needs to be done.
