Tuttosport have sounded the alarm: S.O.S. Mauro Icardi.
The Argentine striker hasn’t scored a goal from open play in a month since the two goals he scored against Roma in week 2 of the current Serie A season. SInce then he has scored just two penalties against SPAL & Bologna. “This has happened before in previous seasons, inevitably the argument begins to rage against the Inter Captain: Is his movement not good enough or is the team not creating enough for him – Tuttosport goes on – it’s an age old argument for them & as the last 4 games from Inter have shown us, it’s still a problem today.
Against Crotone & Bologna it was fair to say that Icardi didn’t do enough for the team & was rarely a danger to oppposition defence, but against Genoa it was much clearer to see that the team didn’t do enough for their captain who was left waiting for for just one playable ball in order to stamp his mark on the game. There is one fact though that more than any other shows how little he is being found by his teammates in the business end of the pitch: in the last four games Mauro has not managed a single foul against him. Zero. Nothing. Nada. This shows that opposition defenders haven’t needed to intervene & tackle Icardi with nay kind of nastiness because he hasn’t been troubling them.”

you see that Jesus on his right leg, that’s my boy, king of the city !
I’m not worried. he just doesn’t get the service against smaller teams who remain tight with 10 behind the ball parking the bus. This is where we really hurt not having a true trequartista. So easy for these teams to predict our play.. Wing, cross, fail, repeat, wing, cross, fail, repeat. He’ll continue to flourish against the bigger teams in the mean time.
agree. against those “park the bus” smaller teams we need eder and, unfortunately, could well have used jovetic. they aint killers like icardi but they are much more dynamic attackers, the kind that breaks the defence.
The main problem is valero who can’t provide good ball to brozovic and our two winger. He always delay fluidity of the ball, they weren’t connected.
I would put Joao Mario and Gagliardini in central, let’s keep Brozo upfront. Mario is much better distributing balls upfront.
Valero needs to make a long pass through forward, just like pirlo. Sometimes we have to crack the barricade between 2nd and 3rd line that couldn’t be penetrated just with simple passes.
Lol of course Tutto$hit has to talk about Icardi and not Piguain… Icardi is fine, once our play becomes better he will score… He needs service from our wingers and midfielders
The problem about last match against genoa was, our players failed to pass the ball to Icardi, it was like he was always alone in the penalty box with 2-3 players pressed him. With Candreva’s poor crossing and our box to box midfielder failed to make a space for Icardi, then Icardi couldn’t do anything. But he was good as CB though :p
But he also failed to help the team offensevely , or to help the team find him , he is too static ,always up there , stuck in the middle.
Big time.
He should watch
Milito or Crespo videos and learn.
Moreover, when Perisic did that great run on the left and found him in the box he missed the ball stop at amateur , ridiculous level.
Also:
He touched like 10 balls the whole game.
And missed like 8.
That is NOT the ” team’s fault ”
That is HIS fault.
He needs to start play this game like the team sport it is.
This is not tennis or golf.
I love when you compare milito to crespo, both are deadly… really missed them both at our team
agreed, he needs to make his teammates around him look good the way milito did and make chances for himself
No matter how many facts you give to Icardi fans they will still remain ignorant. Just look at the comments in this article.
They even saying Tutosport is doing this to protect Higuain LOL. Not saying they are amazing, but you can not make up stats.
Grow up you Icardi fans, at the end of the day he’s only a fancy Inzagi version.
Who knows, if he convert to CB he might be world class player as his main strength is positioning
put a Wesley Sneijder type behind him and he’ll flourish
since he left, we haven’t fill the gap
banega was exactly like Wesley but we didn’t appreciate his talent and had to sell to make a little money, cuz we did bad business in other places such a shame
Its clear that Icardi is a target man nd that’s it.
But there is only a handful players in the whole world like him he is a puer killer
icardi is a king
