Inter President Erick Thohir spoke to Indonesian outlet Bola.liputan6 on Inter’s start to the season, “We were expecting these results and thanks to Luciano Spalletti’s leadership, we are now in third place. Our goal is the Champions League, it is always to get to the Champions League.”
Thohir then spoke on the comparisons with Milan’s mercato that were made often in the mercato, “We thought the composition of our team was ideal. Milan is different, they had to buy 11 new players. So our situation is not comparable to theirs.”
He then spoke on the rumours such as the one linking Inter with Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil and future signings, “They are just gossip, who knows who has circulated them. We can not decide on these things [new signings] right now because we are at the beginning of the season and not even half way.”
