Interviewed by TMW,  journalist Cagri Davran spoke about the arrival of Gary Medel to Besiktas this past Summer from Inter Milan:

“Medel arrived at Besiktas but the coach decided to not play him immediately to simly not drastically change the lineup all at once.  Then Adriano got injured and Medel began playing and was given his chance as he wasn’t overly thrilled to be on the bench.  Now the situation is tranquil.  To be honest, I believe he should be playing more than he is.  At Inter Medel didn’t find space to play so he arrived in a big club that plays in the Champions League. The stadium is fantastic here and so are the fans.  Many champions have arrived here such as Gomez and Ba and Medel has to live up to those standards considering he has quite the contract making 3.7 Million per year.”
