Gazzetta dello Sport believes that Manchester United is a distant memory for Ivan Perisic now following his start to the season. The Croatian looked pretty set to up sticks and swap Milan for Manchester in the summer but the clubs could not come to an agreement, despite the former Wolfsburg man agreeing personal terms with Jose Mourinho’s side.
The 28-year-old is now a leader in Luciano Spalletti’s Inter and his partnership with Mauro Icardi is perfect, if not very close to it. Perisic has 11 assists this calendar year, 6 of which have been for Icardi. 4 of his 11 assists have come this term, where he has also netted three goals.
All in all, Perisic has netted 23 times in 87 outing in Nerazzurri and has set up 22 goals since arriving little over two years ago in a €15 million deal.

I still remember when we signed him,lot of people were unsure about him even bashed him after first few months but i was apsolutly sure he would be a great buy for us as i followed him since his days in Hajduk Splits youth setup..23 goals and 22 asissts later and i think everyone now see what a good signing he was for just 15M which now looks like a peanut since he is worth at least 60M in todays prices
There were two reasons for the initial bashing: 1. We had just gotten Shaqiri 6 months ago and acquiring Perisic meant we had no long term plans for player acquisitions. 2. Perisic was initially deployed at AM and wasn’t playing well at that position. He started shining once playing the LW position.
Fast? Check. Great cross? Check. Can finish? Check. Knows how to get behind the defense? Check. Better play him as AM – Mancini logic.
Lol !
He was deployed at AM because we were playing 4-3-1-2 at that time. Our defense was very tight because of 3 CMFs, however this formation doesn’t have wingers. Which, of course, begs the question of why Mancini wanted a winger in the first place.
yes
but its his third year and were yet to qualify with him to the Ucl
