Former Nerazzurri forward Marko Livaja spoke with Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of AEK Athens’ clash with Milan: “Inter are still in my heart and I have more than enough reasons to look for a goal against Milan.”

The Croatian forward joined Inter from Hadjuk Split but admitted to Milan also making a bid to sign him.

I was 16 when Inter were looking at me, I had been in Milan to talk with Piero Ausilio but my contract with Hadjuk was not yet up. At that point, Milan started calling me, even offering me more money.”

The 24-year-old left Inter in 2013 after not even a dozen appearances but still holds the city of Milan close to his heart.

“It still feels like my city a little bit and I’m so happy to go back,” he said before talking on his current city, Athens; “I’m fine in Athens and I feel I can stay here for a long time.”

Livaja then spoke on compatriot Nikola Kalinic, who joined Milan in the summer: “We both came through the ranks at Hadjuk but never crossed paths as he is older. He is great, I follow him closely, like all the other Croats who live in Italy.”
