Lorenzo Insigne underwent medical testing today on his thigh injury which confirmed a strain but no tear, which comes as a relief to Napoli as the 26-year-old will not be out for an extended period.
Through way of a statement, the Partenopei confirmed that “tests ruled out any lesion in the affected area, and confirmed the diagnosis of muscular fatigue made in the dressing room at the Etihad” and that he “received treatment today at Castelvolturno, and his condition will be evaluated tomorrow.”
The winger is understood to still doubtful for Saturday night’s clash with Inter at the Stadio San Paolo despite the diagnosis.

A strain with no muscle tear sometimes fixes itself in one day.
But he will probably be out anyway at this point,I guess.
Callejon and Mertens are big worries,
I wonder if Spallo is thinking at some defensive tactical change to limit them?
i dont think we have a deep enough squad to think about any kind of change.
The 5 defense , with Cancelo right back and Dambro tighter, center right..
Just an idea.
ya i would be curious to see how Santon would do. i have always rated him higher then most people seem to.
He wasn’t ” all that ” when he started with Mancini, but he was never fully fit.
And he is still better and safer than the other two at playing the ball and start the play anyways.
Great, just rule him out of the game against us. Even if we win i don’t think we got the steam to win the long race to the end, Napoli is the only team who can deny Rube another Scudetto.
Yeah. We need to find consistency before we can say that we are Scudetto material. Once we can consistently make top 3 in the league aka not finish the season 7th or 8th. Squad is finally looking good, perhaps one real high profile midfielder is lacking and an eventual Candreva replacement.
we could also use a real back up CB. Miranda is exhausted and needs a rest and i dint want to see Rano playing much.
Should be coming in January. Looks like Mangala is the target.
i’m just curious if Mangala doesn’t mind being a back up. isn’t that his main complaint about man city?
He is potentially good.
But what about ” already serie A long tested and even speaks the language”.. Mustafi?
I liked that option, especially for those exact reasons.
