Davide Santon was Interviewed on Inter TV and spoke about the Derby Di Milano, the big match against Napoli and what role Luciano Spalletti has played on the success of Inter Milan.
On the Derby Di Milano- “The Derby for me was truly beautiful and it was so important for me that for all these months of being out I had a chance to play, even if it was for one minute. It was important for me.”
On the big Napoli match- “Napoli is such a great team, their play is simply memorized by the players for years and they have a good manager. We have to go their and play our football and to win, you never go into a game to tie. There should be a beautiful atmosphere, the Naples fans are always tremendous, but we will go there and fight for the victory. We need to have full concentration and forget about the Derby since it is already in the past.”
On Spalletti and the current Inter team: “He’s a great coach, he’s assisted me from day 1, we have a great relationship and we always talk. I’m readily available for the team and in any role the coach has for me. I’ve been on Inter for quite sometime now and seeing us win makes me very happy but we need to realize Inter is a club that we cannot be happy just with these results but to continuously build and win always, we need to go on the pitch with the correct mentality.”
I really hope Spalleti will help him out and that this will be the season from when we’ll have Santon as a regular starter.
Since he came we’ve seen some really good periods of him but he suffered with the changes of the coaches.
He can read the game very well which makes him a very good defender, and on the ball he’s a very good dribler and has good crosses also the vision as well. Not physical like D’Ambrosio but he makes up for that with general quality.
Give Santon a chance to deal with Callejon?
Hmmm. ..I don’t know, it would depend on his total fitness and form .
But I do know he is better at playing the ball than the other two.
How many goals did you score from the day one? smh
Was so happy to see this guy play in the derby… Hopefully spaletti can make something out of him
