Inter gave a defensively perfect performance against arguably the most in form team in Europe when drawing Napoli 0-0 at the Stadio San Paolo.
Luciano Spalletti’s men had done their homework and started by pressing Napoli really high up which caused the Pertenopei some problems. However, they managed to play themselves past Inter’s high press at which point the Nerazzurri instead defended deep but as one unit shrinking space in midfield which confounded Napoli but the sheer talent of Insigne and Mertens forced Handanovic to produce 3 or 4 magical saves.
Inter’s highly criticized full-backs Danilo D’Ambrosio and Yuto Nagatomo gave their best performance in an Inter shirt and barely conceded anything to Napoli’s brilliant wingers Lorenzo Insigne and José Callejon.

“the most in form team in Europe” seem a little bit much to me, after seeing them bombarded by Manchester City and not being able to make a single play for the first 40 minutes just last Tuesday..
more like “top 3 or 4 in Europe”.
PSG, Barca, City…
I was surprise most of us vote Handanovic.
For me Inter’s best player was either D’ambrosio or Candreva, them both play very lively.
interesting opinion. might becasue handa being this good is normal, but d ambrosio and candreva is great by their standard… maybe thats why
I also gave it to D’ambro.
Not a single mistake.
But Skriniar made up for his mistakes with a glorious second half.
It’s official :
Skri is the best Inter acquisition “AT” , the After Triplete era.
I think it’s too early to call that. Skriniar’s Inter career barely got started. I mean, Icardi also came After Triplete; are you sure Skriniar > Icardi?
Dumbo for me… did very well defensively and made some nice runs… His pass behind Napoli’s D for Candy was so not him:D
I dont feel like voting for Handa, making saves is his job. He only made 3-4 saves because Napoli only had a few chances thanks to Skriniar. Closing down Mertens and Insigne is not an easy task and he did it greatly. Skriniar makes Handanovic’s job easier. My vote goes to him.
`Though you can tell from my pic that I’m a Skriniar fan, this performance was by far his worst performance in our shirt(for his standards) lost many duels and missed a lot of passes.
hmmmm.. a couple of mistakes in the first half, yes, but in the second half he was glorious ,he was the total boss.
I gave it to D’ambro.
Always unnoticed and unacknowledged, he was literally perfect tonight.
Handanovic, then Skriniar. Skriniar was excellent in stopping Insigne and Mertens over and over. Handanovic made miraculous saves to save the draw for us.
Handanovic, hands down. Brilliant display today. Saved us many times … multiple miraculous saves.
Wish I could vote for a few players. Handa for saving us the point, but I felt Gagliardini smashed the midfield battle, and Skrinir was as solid as always. Candreva has continued his derby fever and put in a great performance. DAmbrosio and Nagatomo were fantastic to keep the Napoli wingers silent. A damn fine performance all around. ultimately though Handanovic gets the vote
Gaglia good defensively but weak or null, as he often is, when its time to create the play.
Nagatomo was offensively $h*t but he did well against mediocre Hysaj
Come on he also had Callejon.
He did great defensively.
And yes,offensevely..like you said..he is what he is..
skriniarrr
was a great tactical display, finally i feel the boys are humble and try to get the result requested, it was an intelligent game by spalletti.
Handa and then Škriniar/D’Ambrosio tied for second. Vecino and Candreva the next 2. Overall the team played really well IMO.
