Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio: “Spalletti can be calm, Milan Skriniar is not for sale”

Moments before kick-off at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza between Inter and Sampdoria, Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio gave an interview to Premium Sport where he spoke about a wide variety of things

You should not change much when team wins, correct?

“I believe that Spalletti has created stability. We’re coming from strong results so I don’t see the need to make any necessary changes.  Taking players out whom are doing well isn’t pretty to do.”

Do you believe that Inter can win the Scudetto?

“You are asking me this so Spalletti can get angry with me in the locker room [laughs]. We say what we feel but it’s best to simply go game by game. It’s the best way to go about our business from match to match. We’re all in the same mindset, from the staff to the players, we must listen to Spalletti. We want to win this game in front of our fans knowing especially that this is a huge moment for us as the fixture list has given us the advantage of perhaps momentarily being in top of the table.”

Your recent trips around Europe, can we make the assumptions that they are in regards to Skriniar?

“No, the concern of course can be there since his performances on the pitch have been great. Milan has to continue to grow, build from here and these are the types of players we don’t want to lose. Spalletti needs to be calm, he’s not going anywhere.”

Skriniar and Icardi have both come from Sampdoria, Have you thanked Osti?

“We have to give credit to this team. It’s been a while now that Ferrero has taken this team to great lengths. Skriniar and Icardi are our players, and we are very satisfied with the players as I’m sure Sampdoria are for us that they are with Inter. But to me this is very casually speaking, players can come from anywhere but these two have come from Sampdoria. I’m happy though that these players come from a friendly club like Sampdoria, even because it’s not like we paid very little for them.”

Can Eder play alongside Icardi?

“I feel for the player, we see how much he contributes and the work rate he offers in tarining and he’s so important to the national team. We can only push him to go forward, he’s such a professional and a good person. He will have his chance in the future. He has to contribute in other ways and be proud that he’s the 12th man for the club and for this I believe he understands how valuable it is.”
