Sampdoria’s Romei – “Inter Target Lucas Torreira Not Leaving”

SampdoriaNews reports that Uruguayan midfielder, Lucas Torreira will not be leaving Sampdoria when the transfer window opens in January.

The Blucerchiati will look to hang on to the player for as long as possible according to the clubs lawyer, Antonio Romei, who was interviewed by Telenord: “We do not talk about clauses, these are complicated contractual mechanisms. Torreira is an asset to Sampdoria after only 1 year with us. He has had a tremendous development, he is serious, competitive and he is very determined.”

The Uruguayan midfielder has liked the idea of moving to big clubs such as Inter and Atletico Madrid and the 21-year old has featured 46 matches for the Sampdoria getting on the scoresheet twice. The  former Pescara and Montevideo Wanderers midfielder transferred to Sampdoria for a fee of €1.5 million in 2015 but stayed on loan at Pescara for an additional year to gain important first team experience.

Torreira played 28 matches for the Delfini managing to score three times.
