Sporting Lisbon’s Sporting Director André Geraldes was interviewed by TMW ahead of last nights Champions League group fixture at home at the Estadio José Alvalade against Juventus.

The Primeira Liga club’s Director was asked about the future of former Sporting and current Inter player Joao Mario, who has been the subject of a few transfer rumours given that he has failed to start regularly for the Nerazzurri since his transfer to Italy.

“Joao Mario is a great player and a great man, who grew up with us and came up through our academy. He plays well and he is tactically very intelligent. He is a player that would do well everywhere, but Inter will decide his future” Geraldes concluded.

Joao Mario left the Portuguese outfit in the summer of 2016 after having won the UEFA European Championships representing Portugal, for a record breaking fee, something Sporting Lisbon confirmed via a statement on their homepage when confirming the transfer.
