Corriere dello Sport believe that Matias Vecino has defied his critics since joining Inter. The critics were of the opinion that Inter paid too much for him after the Nerazzurri activated the Uruguayan midfielder’s €24 million release clause in the summer and defies them each and every game.
Vecino has played a part in all of Inter’s 11 Serie A games this term and has found the net on one occasion and provided two assists.
The 26-year-old has struck up a solid partnership with Roberto Gagliardini in the midfield two of Luciano Spalletti’s 4-2-3-1 system. Alongside Gagliardini, Vecino has more freedom to express himself whereas he was unable to do so to the same extent in the early part of the season when partnered with Borja Valero.
Corriere dello Sport are also of the opinion that Vecino was just what Inter were needing and all he needs to do is score a bit more often.
Vecino’s shooting is poor. I’ve seen him having open looks and can’t even hit the target. His passing game is really good though.
True, but if he finally starts to hold the ball down instead of shooting like Guarin he is pretty close to perfect.
Surprisingly good to me, to be honest.
Yeah, as long as he doesn’t shoot, Vecino is good. I just don’t count on him scoring goals, despite the article suggests he should. That shooting ability won’t yield many goals.
let vecino pass and brozo shoot
He is creating a clear scoring areas, I think he is ordered by Spaletti to do so, and developing his final product shot, he can be lethal, a Vidal type of player.
Told you guys this summer that we had signed a quality player in the making- to make him even better we just need to ad a quality defensive midfielder to “have his back”someone like Krychowiak maybe. Gagliardini is a very talented player and is turning into a good defensive midfielder (even though he played as a box to box for Atalanta ) but to make us even better that’s what we need, plus an attacking mid.
I’ve seen him a couple of time thundering the ball in for Fiorentina .. he has a great l9ng shot but do3snt always his the target just like Perisic or Candreva don’t either.
your judgement is based on one only one last match, please reply Inter vs Milan, and last year Viola games (highlight only) and you have reasons to say otherwise. Beside, Vecino shooting ability is way better than JM. cheers
I haven’t seen Viola games, but my assessment of Vecino’s shooting isn’t based on just one game. I watch pretty much every Inter game.
